COURSE OVERVIEW
This internet live activity aims to describe the spectrum of signs and symptoms suspicious for heart failure illustrating the clinical stages of heart failure and the triggers for clinical deterioration, also, will discuss the most updated guidelines of diagnosis and management of HF, designing both a non-pharmacologic and a pharmacologic treatment plan based on a patient’s HF stage, in order to enhance patient care.
Goal Statement
The aim of this session is to discuss the most updated guidelines of diagnosis and management of HF
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to;
- Describe the spectrum of signs and symptoms suspicious for heart failure illustrating the clinical stages of heart failure and the triggers for clinical deterioration.
- Discuss the most updated guidelines of diagnosis and management of HF
- Design both a non-pharmacologic and a pharmacologic treatment plan based on a patient’s HF stage
- Explore the current indications, limitations and possible future applications of imaging modalities to improve the management of HF patients
- Outline the Potential benefits of SGLT-2 inhibitors in diabetic patients with established HF.
- Illustrate why T2D Patients are at greater risk of developing HF and being hospitalized due to HF.
- Proper Management of HF in DM patients.
- Discuss and analyze the results of DAPA-HF trial to assess and evaluate the efficacy of Dapagliflozin in Patients with Chronic HFrEF with or Without T2D focusing on Results in Non-diabetic Patients.
- Assess the safety and tolerability profile of Dapagliflozin in HFrEF patients even in elderly patients.
- Summarize the substantial benefits from adding Dapagliflozin to guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) for patients with heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).
- Explain how to develop preventive programs to combat HF.
