Goal Statement
The aim of this activity is to provide community pharmacists with appropriate knowledge about the epidemiology, etiology and pathogenesis of non-communicable diseases focusing on classification and diagnosis. Highlighting pharmacotherapeutic options to improve patients’ adherence.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to;
- Recognize the role of lifestyle modification and treatment with statins in lowering cardiovascular risk
- Implement current lipid recommendations and guidelines in practice to reduce ASCVD risk
- Brief how hypertension is managed with antihypertensive agents and goals of treatment as recommended by international guidelines.
- Discuss the important role of pharmacists in the optimal management of pain.
- Explore mechanisms of action and adverse effects of different antidepressants classes to Educate MDD patient how to avoid adverse effects of antidepressants and improve adherence.
- Identify comorbid diseases associated with Erectile Dysfunction.
- Distinguish barriers that affect smoking quitting and identify the willing of smokers to go to doctor and the gap between expectation and reality for quitting.
- Discuss solutions to improve medication adherence and identify the key components of an adherence program.
